Passive House
Passive House design has continued to grow in popularity over the last few years, with energy efficiency also at the forefront of everyone’s mind. Based on achieving year-round comfort without the need for heating or cooling systems, it is the world’s leading standard in energy efficiency design.
The Passive House standard is an internationally-renowned accreditation designed to maximise the environmental performance of building materials. Roof Maker’s flat fixed Passive House accredited rooflight is the first of its kind in the UK to be approved by the Passive House Institute in Germany as a recommended product/supplier.
Adding passive house approved or more energy-efficient building materials to your home will help to reduce energy use and carbon emissions. Passive House accredited rooflights are a great way to add low maintenance and high impact feature to your home. The Passive House fixed flat rooflight is installed in the exact same way as our regular fixed flat rooflight.
The fixed flat rooflight, available up to 3×1 metres, has undergone a range of tests and processes by the Passive House organisation, including thermal imagery examinations, to prove it helps to provide constant and consistent temperatures throughout the home.
Product Overview
Passive House full accreditation
The simulation of the thermal values of the frame sections are based on the regulations of the standard ISO 10077-1:2010 and 10077-2:2012.
The thermal conductivities of the materials refer to relevant standards, technical approvals or have been determined by measured values according to ISO 10077-2:2012, section 5.1.
The patented ‘stepped’ glass design further reduces the energy loss of the rooflight, which can maintain a 30 degree centigrade difference between the outside and inside of the property, with a guarantee that no condensation will form on the inside pane of glass
