Last month, Roof Maker had the pleasure of exhibiting at The Homebuilding and Renovating Show, held at ExCel London. As one of the UK’s premier events for anyone looking to build or renovate their homes, this show was the perfect stage for us to showcase our newest innovation—the Open-Lite® access rooflight and our new partnership with Sky-Blind. Our large 8m x 8m island stand was a true standout at the show, with a robotic arm opening and closing the electric Sky-Blinds fitted to all our products.
This year’s event brought together homeowners, architects, builders, and designers, all keen to discover the latest trends, materials, and solutions to enhance their projects. It provided the ideal opportunity for Roof Maker to connect with both prospective customers and industry professionals, allowing us to demonstrate first-hand the impressive features and benefits of our innovative and industry leading products.

The Star of the Show: Open-Lite Access Rooflight
The Open-Lite® was undoubtedly the highlight of our exhibit. This product is designed with modern living in mind, combining functionality, style, and energy efficiency. What sets Open-Lite® apart from traditional rooflights is its dual purpose—it not only floods interiors with natural light but also offers convenient roof access. Whether it’s for maintenance, roof terrace access, or simply providing ventilation, Open-Lite® makes it possible without compromising on aesthetics. For more information read our full blog post discussing the features here.
We were thrilled to see the level of interest and engagement from visitors, many of whom were excited by the prospect of incorporating this sleek, multi-functional rooflight into their renovation or self-build projects. Throughout the event, our team provided live demonstrations to showcase the smooth and easy opening mechanism of the rooflight, allowing attendees to get a real sense of its practical benefits. The minimalist design, robust aluminium frame, and premium glazing options also garnered a lot of attention. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive from both customers and industry professionals alike. Visitors appreciated the high-quality craftsmanship, with many commenting on how well Open-Lite would integrate into their projects.

Our Expansive Stand: 8m x 8m to Showcase Innovation
This year, we invested in a large 8m x 8m island stand to ensure that our product range was fully visible and accessible to all. The spacious setup allowed us to present many products in our portfolio, giving visitors an immersive experience as they explored the different features and benefits up close.
We were also excited to introduce our new partnership with Sky-Blind. These electric or manual blinds perfectly complement our rooflights. With no visible cords, adding a Sky-Blind maintains the clean, minimalist aesthetic that homeowners crave, making them an ideal pairing with Roof Maker rooflights.

Positive Feedback and Future Prospects
The feedback we received during the event was overwhelmingly positive, not only from homeowners but also from industry professionals. Architects, builders, and designers were particularly impressed by our rooflights and bi-fold doors and how well they could integrate into modern home designs. Several professionals commented on the demand for rooflights that blend aesthetics and functionality, and many saw the potential for using our products in both residential and commercial projects. We were delighted to see customers placing pre-orders at the show and scheduling follow-up calls for bespoke projects.
